So continuing on, after the Yokohama China Town stop, we headed off to Studie Yokohama. We ended up getting lost, google maps ftl. Im sure that Im missing more than a couple of important titles.

Im pacing myself in a big way this year. I havent even bought Dirt 2 or Demons Souls yet, ......

This Christmas game-buying season has dried up considerably compared to the past few years. There are still plenty of heavy hitters (Uncharted 2 and Modern Warfare 2) and unique originals (Brütal Legend, Borderlands), but the zest and variety has been sucked out. Luckily, these games are merely delayed and not evaporated into nothingness. The normally barren early months of the year are now as teeming with life as a small Brazilian rainforest. My console of choice at the moment is the PlayStation 3, and so it will get top billing in a feature I plan to continue (with plan being ......

Gran Turismo on the PSP has been out for a little while now but I?ve only just gotten round to trying a copy.
I admit to some apathy for the title for a few reasons. Firstly, Sony?s handheld isn?t really the best platform for semi-simulator racing games. The digital on/off buttons tend to make accelerating and braking tricky and the thumb pad is useless for pretty much anything let alone steering into a tricky 90 degree left.
Secondly, I was confident that it was going to be watered down and half-assed.

OK folks, its go time. PSP Go, that is. Images of the long-rumored handheld have supposedly surfaced thanks to an early release of Qores June issue. Not just an image, theres even a shot of the pack and mention of launch games.
Okay. Kinda fugly, but thats alright. GCN also said that it will have 16GB memory (this is on-board, I think) and another memory slot, presumably for a memory stick. The price is still TBA and the release is this fall. Also, the PSP Go wont be replacing the PSP 3000. Instead theyll be both sold side by side.

Polyphony head Kazunori Yamauch has said in an interview in this weeks Famitsu that he could release Gran Turismo 5 any time we want.

After getting hold of the full PS3 version of Dirt 2 (reviewed here) playing through the PSP version, sadly, doesnt hold much allure.
Graphically the game isnt too bad for a PSP title but pales in comparison to something like Gran Turismo PSP. The backgrounds and tracks are well done though and you get a varied mix of locations to keep things interesting.
The game is made up of challenge modes and a World Tour, similar to the full mode in the PS3 version just on a smaller scale and without the personality.

I know I havent done much this past week in terms of gaming. Ive barely played bits of Disgaea 2: Dark Hero Days (PSP) in the subway trains on my way to and Ive only made the video Beginning a Gran Turismo game.

Ive booked my Korean Air flights so that I leave London on 15 October and arrive in Seoul the following day. I will then leave Seoul for Auckland on 25 October and arrive in Wellington the following day. The week-long lay-over in Seoul gives me the opportunity to see friends and will be a fitting end to Gran Turismo.

This October 2k Sports is about to unleash what looks like the first proper new gen basketball video game. 2k7 in my books is still the best NBA game Ive played but 2K10 looks crazy! I cant wait!
